Looking Cute for School

Amanda looked so cute for school this
morning ... I just had to take a picture.

Barefoot in the Park

This past Saturday afternoon, Amanda and I went to
the Barefoot in the Park fine arts festival on the Town
Green in Duluth, GA

Amanda loved the children's art park.

Here she is painting her macaroni necklace.

Our neighbor Janice was there to help
at one of the art stations. We also saw
her sing in a choir. And we saw her
husband Rick.

Amanda loved making green silly putty!

We saw our neighbor Joyce and her two
daughters.

Amanda loved the red fox!

This is the new City Hall in Duluth.
I just love this area of town.

Amanda was worn out and asleep when
we got home.

But she bounced right back into action
about 45 minutes later to help me make
some chocolate covered strawberries.

Finally, Buddy Gets His Hair Cut Off!

I am SO happy! It was finally warm enough
this weekend to shave Buddy's hair off. I was
about ready to go crazy because of him
shedding all over the place.

Dinner and the Harley Store

Bob needed me to take him to pick up his
motorcycle which had been in the shop at
Frasier's Harley the other night. Amanda
was at her Grandparent's house, so Bob and
I went out to dinner too. We went to Red
Lobster ... Bob loves their jumbo fried shrimp.
The last picture above is of Bob looking at the
huge bill from Harley!

Outside Fun

Purple Sandels

Amanda's purple sandels that her Aunt
Carla bought her caused quite a stir this
morning. Amanda was very upset because
I would not let her wear them to preschool.
I explained to her that she would be slipping
and sliding around all day if she wore them.
She was very upset! Here she is on the front
steps after school with her beloved sandels.

Getting Ready to Plant the Garden

Bob tilled up the garden for me this week
so that Amanda and I could start planting
some vegetables. We haven't planted anything
yet, but Amanda sure has enjoyed running
around in the dirt in her bare feet!

While I am working

I work part-time as a freelance graphic design. Most of the freelance work I do is for the International Mission Board. For the past few months, I have been working on theCommission magazine.

The Summer 08 issue that I am currently working on goes to the printer on May 7th–so I have just about 1 more month to go until it will be finished. Then I will have a little break until I start on the next issue this summer.

I like to listen to First Baptist Church of Woodstock On Demand while I am working. The pastor, Johnny Hunt, is a dynamic preacher of the word of God. They also have an awesome music ministry.

Check it out sometime at http://fbcw.org/media/mediacenter/ondemand.html
You can see an entire Sunday a.m. or p.m. service.

Because of Your Love

I was listening to First Baptist Woodstock's Sunday sermon from April 6, 2008 called "Our Past Walk and Present Witness–part 2" You can find it at http://fbcw.org/media/mediacenter/ondemand.html

The first song of the service was "Because of Your Love". They sing this song a lot, and I wanted to share the words below. I was inspired the other day by my blogging friend Julia who looks for prayer in music. Her prayer was through a song called "Only You" by David Crowder.

Because of Your Love by Paul Baloche

As we come into Your presence We remember every blessing
That You’ve poured out so freely from above.
Lifting gratitude and praises For compassion so amazing
Lord we’ve come to give You thanks For all You’ve done

Because of Your love We’re forgiven
Because of Your love Our hearts are clean
We lift You up With songs of freedom
Forever we’re changed Because of Your love

As we come into Your presence
We remember every blessing
That You’ve poured out so freely from above.
Lifting gratitude and praises For compassion so amazing
Lord we’ve come to give You thanks
For all You’ve done

Because of Your love We’re forgiven
Because of Your love Our hearts are clean
We lift You up With songs of freedom
Forever we’re changed Because of Your love

Because of Your love We’re forgiven
Because of Your love Our hearts are clean
We lift You up With songs of freedom
Forever we’re changed Because of Your love

More Tulips!

Bubbles, babies and taxes

My friend Michelle had a baby girl named
Trinity on Saturday morning, and my friend
McKenzie had a baby boy named Hudson on
Sunday morning. I can't wait to see both of
theses new babies!

We had an uneventful weekend mostly due
to me being sick, and Bob trying to get the
taxes finished.

Bob bought TurboTax and then realized it
would not work on his Mac operating system
(10.3). He contemplated upgrading his system
but in the end he loaded the software onto my
computer which has the latest Mac OS X system
(10.5) He then spent all of Saturday working on taxes
and also retyping in information that would have
automatically come up on his computer from
previous years. Not fun!

Amanda and I sorted and packed up all of her
winter clothes. One bin was for clothes that don't fit
anymore and the other was for clothes that might fit
this fall and winter. Then we hung up all of her summer
clothes and organized her closet. It wasn't too hard though
since my mom gave us a head start on organizing Amanda's
closet while she was visiting us.

Playing with Her Dolls

It is hilarious to listen to Amanda talk to
her dolls! I need to get it on tape.

Today Amanda scraped her foot outside,
and we put a band aid on the scratch. She
said, "I am going to show Grandma my
boo boo on my left foot when I go to her
house tonight." I looked down, and sure
enough, the scratch was on her left foot!
